Jed from Zig Zags gave me a really short interview and answered 15 out of 36 questions but we got some facts about the group anyway…..august-2019

Please tell me a little bit history of the group?

-We started in LA as an acoustic duo.

Please tell me a little about every member in the group right now, age, family, work, interests and something bad about everyone? Earlier bands? Other bands on the side?

-Sean plays bass he is old I don’t know how old, he’s actually a guitar player. He’s a mansplanner he plays in a country band called CB Brand that I used to play in too. I’m the middle child, I worked as a chef and an actor in LA, I’m pretty bitchy to be around and I complain a lot and get stressed out and get mad at everyone when I’m tired. Dane is the youngest one and he plays drums and I don’t really know too much about him he lives in like a weird garage that I have never been in.

I can hear much different influences but mostly Tank, Motörhead and early metallica? Favorites from the past?

-Yes all of those for sure and then lots of old hardcore punk and we listen to a lot of country music and Bob Dylan and jazz too.

Zig Zags are you satisfied with the name? How did it came up? I think it sounds a little punky  ? You weren’t afraid that some other band would be named like this? Which is the best bandname you know?

-Them Crooked Vultures should answer all of those questions.

What´s the best thing with playing live?

-It’s really good cardio and I like to connect with the audience and have it be a team situation where they are giving it back to us and we’re sort of trading the energy back and forth.

And where is best to play? And the worst place?

-Germany and Germany

How is to play this sort of music in USA right now?  Which types of bands do you have concerts together with?

-We play with everyone we play with bands like OH Sees and also we havee played with Power Trip so every type of music we will fit in.

How would you describe your music in three words?

-Punk fucking metal

What does punk mean to you, is it only a word or is it a lifestyle?

-I’m 40 years old.

What shall a young guy do today to shock their parents as the way we did when we were young? They have already seen everything ;-)?

-Where we live I guess you’d have to be a republican or a Christian to shock anyone.

How is it to live in USA right now? Politically?   Fascists?  Trump?

-It’s pretty annoying.

Is there any good bands from USA right now?  Is the punkscene/metalscene/hardcorescene big? How is it in your hometown?

We just got voted “Best Metal” band in LA by the LA Weekly which I´m sure pissed off a few bands if they’re bothering to read the LA Weekly. I’m sure all the metal bands are good.

What do you know about Sweden?  Have you been here sometime?

-We have played Stockholm and Gothenburg and it was really great and the food was good and the people were cool and we have a lot of friends and bands we like from there.

Have you heard any good bands from Sweden?

-Träd Gräs Och Stenar, Bathory, Hellacopters, there are tons.

Your lyrics, who does them and what influences you?

-I write them all based on ideas from movies or art.
