Twenty Five Sixty comes from Canada and are a really upcoming band. Check them out and their own style of punkrock. January-2025

Tell me the short or the long story how you did come together as a band?

-Luc and Hugh had the idea of starting a Punkband one year ago. Ghis, Julien and Eric joined the band and this is how it's been started.

Have it always been the same members? Tell me a little about every member, age, work and something bad about every one

-Yes. All original members from the beginning. Luc is a pro action guy with a lot of qualities that help the band tho. Ghis is a nice picture guy with his cellphone ! He got eyes for quality of our picture. Hugh is the guy who talk everytime to everyone ! He is a very great singer with a lot of experience. He's a great writer too. Eric had a lot of metals bands in the past. He is a guitarist, bassist and a great drummer. He has a lot of experiences with studio sounds and this is our producer that recorded our first album. Julien is a great guitarist and he is a nice writer for the band. He had another band in the past as a singer.

Do you have any other bands on the side of Twenty Five Sixty?

-There is side project on the side for many of us. But it's just for fun and nothing has been released yet.

How is the punkscene living on in Canada right now?

-It's hard to say.. As you know Canada is a huge country. We do not know every band in the entire Canada. But in our city and all around there are many punkbands that we played together and a lot of them are amazing.

When you started to play, did you do your own songs at once or did you start with some covers, if you did which covers did you played then and do play any covers nowadays?

-We started to play our own songs at the beginning. Now we added 2 or 3 cover songs in our set now.

I hear that you have influences of many styles of punkrock and other styles etc? Favoritpunkstyle?

-Yes many of us has a lot of genre that we listen to. But I think the best style of Punk that we share together is Rise Against.

Trump wants Canada as a state, what about that?

-Trump is not our first choice !! And I hope that he won't achieve this.

What does punk mean to you , is it only music or is it a life style?

-I think this is a lifestyle for many of us. But for others this is a style of music that we like to share with bandmates.

Is there any good punkbands around in Canada right now?

-Yes ! There is a lot of underground bands that evolve and grow as a Punkband. They gain more and more audiences and have to be known.

Do you have any Swedish favorites?

-Unfortunately we don't know Swedish Punk band. Maybe you could give us Punkband names from your country ?   (Millencollin, Satanic Surfers, No Fun At All, Anti-.Cmex, Refused etc etc)

Is it many interviews?

-Actually we haven't done a lot of interviews, but we hope to do so in 2025 !!

How did the name came up?

-The name is inspired from Luc adress!! We chosen this one because this is the place that everything begun.

Could you feel that you have released a record if you only put it out digitally?

-Yes! Nowadays music is listening from internet where ever you came from.

Do you buy much records yourself? Do you have any recordstore left in your hometown?

- Yes a lot of us just buying records from bands to help them. Yes we have many recordstores left in our country.

Are you listening to any other music than punk? Any band you really like but you “shouldn´t” like?

-Yes we are versatile and we listen a lot of other music that is not Punk.

Which is your personal Twenty Five Sixty favoritesong and which is the audience’s choice?

-That is a good question. If we look stats on internet. That would be Almost Dead and Ghost and paradise. For us I think it's hard to say. We all love to play our songs.

Which is….

-the album which make you wanna do music and play yourself?

-the album which is the reason that the bands sounds like you do?

-the album you have been playing/singing on, I mean any other bands classic record?

-the album you must have in the tourbus

-the album which was the first you ever bought?

-the album you´re ashamed of that you own but you like anyway?

-We have a lot of good albums in our minds. But I really think that we share our style together and this is reflects on our first album.

How is it to live in Canada right now, political, bad economy, racists etc?

-This is a great country. Our primeminister has been fired. We all enjoy this decision and can't wait to see the next one

If you have the chance to rule Canada for a week, which have been the first thing you have been changed?

-Hospital should be rearranged because they need more staff.. but a lot of things should be rearranged.

Do you think that politics should be in music? Which is your most political song?

-Yes ! Politics has always been a subject that a lot of bands put in their songs. Our songs speaks about love hate anger etc. Unfortunately we don't have many songs that is speaking about politics. But it could be an idea to write a political songs !

Best political band/artist?

-Rage against the machine. Billy Talent. Rise against. Rancid

You sing in English, why not in French or don´t you talk french? Is it easier to write songs in English?

-We all speak French. But we don't like French lyrics in Punkmusic. So we decided to write our lyrics in English.

It feels like you are a really good liveband, is it sweaty on your concerts?

-Hell yes !! People are trashing and everyone in the band have his own style!!

Which type of people comes to your concert?

-Mostly punk people ! But it depends on where we are playing. Sometime there is kids and parents that which brings a different vibe but it's always sweaty as hell!!

Have you been playing a lot outside Canada

-Actually no!! We've never played outside Canada ! But maybe we will one day !!!

Please tell me a little about the following songs?

-Darkness in your heart

-Sober me

-Seven countries

-Darkness was written by our drummer ! It such a good punkcore song. Hugh has written lyrics on it ! This is one of the most popular songs!

Sober me is speaking about a guy that he would be sober in his life. This song has been written by Luc and Hugh. This is one of our favorite songs to play on stage.

Seven countries was written by our lead Guitarist. This is a song that is more technic. Lyrics speak about someone who recognize someone walking in another country and just tell that he traveled in seven countries !!

You don´t have the lyrics on the cover of your record, why not?

-Unfortunately no!

Future plans for the band?

-We plan to do more shows and maybe another album !!

I do beer myself and I really like beer. You haven´t any thoughts of doing a Twenty Five Sixty beer, if you do it what have it been called and which type of beer would it have been? Or maybe you´re straight edge?

-No we haven't do any beers for the band and we don't have any plans to make some. But we all love beers
