Detta är en hyllningsskiva till den gamla svarte artisten Blind Willie Johnson. Han var född i slutet av 1800-talet och dog 1945. Nu har ett gäng moderna(nåja) artister gett sina tolkningar och vad sägs om Tom Waits som gör musiken till sin egen tycker jag och hans musik passar ypperligt till sådan här musik. Annars är det mycket countryliknande akter som Maria McKee, Lucinda Williams, Rickie Lee Jones och Cowboy Junkies plus att Sinead O´Connor gör en riktigt bra låt här. Låtarna överhuvudtaget har ett sound över sig som gör att det hela känns att det verkligen är gamla låtar även om de har fått en modern touch och jag tycker nog att det känns som om de ger de den kärlek de är värda. Jag tror säkert Blind Wille ler där han sitter i sin himmel eller var han nu är. Det var som jag trodde på den här skivan att tom Waits och Cowboy Junkies är mina personliga favoriter men jag tror säkert att ni också kan hitta någon favorit här. 22/2-2016

This is a tribute album to the old black artist Blind Willie Johnson. He was born in the late 1800s and died in 1945. Now a bunch of modern (well) artists gives their interpretations and how about Tom Waits doing the music to his own, and I think his music is excellently suited to this kind of music. Otherwise it is very country-like acts like Maria McKee, Lucinda Williams, Rickie Lee Jones and Cowboy Junkies plus Sinead O'Connor who makes a really good song here. The songs in general have a sound of itself that makes it all feel that it is really old songs even if they have been given a modern touch and I think that it feels as if they give them the love they deserve. I think certainly Blind Willie smiles as he sits in his heaven, or wherever he is. It was like I thought about this record that Tom Waits and Cowboy Junkies are my personal favorites, but I'm sure that you also can find a favorite here. 22/2-2016
