THE OTHER-ALIENATED(LP-MASSACRE RECORDS)

Jag bara älskar Horrorpunk och The Other är inget undantag. Det är något speciellt med denna typ av musik som en gång i tiden ”uppfanns” av Misfits och det som jag tror tilltalar mig mest är de sköna körerna som ofta ackompanjeras av ooh-ooh körer i bakgrund och de blir så lätta att sjunga med i. Och framförallt riktigt bra melodier i låtarna. Med låttitlar som I give you the creeps, I need Blood och Die Human die ” så visar de var skåpet ska stå.  De 13 låtarna är alla låtar som verkligen speglar hur det ska låta när vi snackar horrorpunk. Man har aldrig en tråkig stund med The Other och det trodde jag i och för sig inte heller..The Other kanske inte ger oss något nytt och revolutionerande men de framför sin musik på ett ypperligt sätt och gillar ni grupper som left Hand Black, Misfits etc etc så älskar ni The Other också och även om de har hållit på i över 20 år känner man verkligen spelglädjen i deras musik och jag tror säkert de håller på i 20 år till så det känns tryggt. När jag lyssnar på sådan här musik får jag alltid mersmak och vill sätta på skivan igen och det gör jag nu! Jag gillar när de sjunger på tyska som i Hier Sein också, då får de ett ganska eget sound faktiskt. På låten In the End känns det nästan som om detta är en låt gjord efter at ha lyssnat en hel del på Ghost. 24/9-2025

I just love Horrorpunk and The Other is no exception. There is something special about this type of music that was once "invented" by Misfits and what I think appeals to me the most is the beautiful choirs that are often accompanied by ooh-ooh choirs in the background and they are so easy to sing along to. And above all, really good melodies in the songs. With song titles like I give you the creeps, I need Blood and Die Human die " they show where the cupboard should be. The 13 songs are all songs that really reflect how it should sound when we talk horrorpunk. You never have a dull moment with The Other and I didn't think so either. The Other may not give us anything new and revolutionary but they perform their music in an excellent way and if you like groups like left Hand Black, Misfits etc etc you love The Other too and even if they have been doing it for over 20 years you really feel the joy of playing in their music and I think for sure they will be doing it for 20 more years so it feels safe. When I listen to music like this I always get a taste for more and want to put the record back on and I do now! I like when they sing in German like in Hier Sein too, then they get a really own sound actually. On the song In the End it almost feels like this is a song made after listening to Ghost a lot. 24/9-2025
