TESTIMONY-OF LIFE AND DEATH(LP-PAPAGAJUV HLSATEL PHJ 217)

Namnet Testimony låter som ett hårdocksband och omslaget likaså även om jag tänker på något Jesus and Mary Chain-album när jag ser omslaget. Visst är det tungt men det är på ett sådant sätt som Amebix och den typen av band är tunga. Mer hardcore än metal alltså. Inledningslåten jag pratar om är många olika stilar i en och det klart med tanke på att den låten klockar in på 9.03 så finns det chans till många svängningar.  Jag tror skivan kom 1997 första gången och bandet kommer från Bratislava i Slovakien. Jag gillar detta för det påminner mig om band som Killing Joke, Amebix och Prong på samma gång och ni förstår då att det är tuff musik vi snackar om och det är svårt att sitta still. Kanske såklart att de inte precis låter som dessa band på något sätt men det finns influenser därifrån kan jag tänka. Det är väldigt många långa låtar och där blir jag överkörd på ett sällan skådat sätt. Jag gillar det lekfulla de har gjort till en egen stil och det skulle vara riktigt intressant att höra dessa hårda killar på någon mer skiva. Jag gillar det mycket i alla fall även om det kanske inte är musik för alla för det kräver en hel del av lyssnaren. 31/10-2023

The name Testimony sounds like a heavy metal band and the cover as well even if I think of some Jesus and Mary Chain album when I see the cover. Sure it's heavy but it's in such a way as Amebix and that type of bands are heavy. More hardcore than metal. The first song I'm talking about is many different styles in one and that of course considering that the song clocks in at 9.03 so is there a chance for many swings. I think the record came in 1997 for the first time and the band comes from Bratislava in Slovakia. I like this because it reminds me of bands like Killing Joke, Amebix and Prong in the same time and you can understand that it's tough music we're talking about and it's hard to sit still. Maybe of course they don ́t sound like these bands in any way but there ́s influences from there I can think. There are a lot of long songs and there I get run over in a rarely seen way. I like the playfulness they have done to an own style and it would be really interesting to hear these hard guys on some more record. I like it a lot anyway even if it may not be music for everyone because it demands a lot of the listener. 31/10-2023
