Straps är ett band som på denna tiden bara gjorde några singular och denna LP. De har kommit tillbaka nu efter vad jag förstått och gjort lite mer skivor och spelar igen. En av mina favoritskivor från 80-talet och tyvärr tror jag inte så många upptäckte gruppen men nu ger oss PHR en ny chans att upptäcka dem. De börjar med den bästa coverversion som nästan gjort av en låt. House of the Rising Sun har de fått till en UK Subs-liknande punklåt…så bra. När sedan Brixton komemr som andra låt kan man inte annat än kapitulera. 12 riktigt bra punklåtar som varvas med att ha några livelåtar med och Straps sound skiljde sig lite från andra punkgrupper. För ibland fick de nästan in rockabilly , ibland gothmusik men alltid punk i slutändan.  Attityd varvat med bra låtar och då kan man inte få mer än en nästan fulländad punkskiva! 2/7-2019

Straps is a band that at this time only did some singles and this LP. They have come back now after what I understood and made a little more records and play again. One of my favorite records from the 80's this one and unfortunately I don't think so many discovered the group but now PHR  give us another chance to discover them. They starts with the best cover version that almost was made of a song. The House of the Rising Sun and they have done it almost like a UK Subs punk song ... so good. When Brixton arrives as the second song, one cannot but surrender. 12 really good punk songs that are mixed as live and studiosongs and Straps sound slightly different from other punk groups. Because sometimes they almost got rockabilly, sometimes goth music but always punk in the end. Attitude mixed with good songs and then you can't get more than an almost perfect punk disc! 2/7-2019

Den här skivan och låten Just Can´t take anymore med sitt rockabillystänk måste vara en av mina favoritpunk LP genom tiderna. Nu finns den på CD och jag tackar Mark Brennan på Captain Oi för detta. Det är lustigt när jag lyssnar på New Age och då tänker jag på Pack/Theatre of Hate och när jag sedan läser i bookleten om Straps så står det där att två medlemmar gick dit.  New Age är en sådan låt som bara sätter sig och ilskan som Straps visar oss känns så äkta. Brixton är likadant och mycket beror på deras sångare som låter mer än lovligt arg.  16 låtar av pur och ren punkhistoria med ett av punkvärldens bortglömda band.(ÅTTA) 26/4-05

This record and the song Just can´t take anymore with it´s rockabillyastyled music must be one of my favouritepunk LP:s all time. Now it´s here on CD and I thank Mark Brennan on Captain Oi for this one. It´s funny when I listen to New Age and then I think about Pack/theatre of hate and when I read in the booklet about Straps it´s written there that two members went on to TOH. New Age is a song which really getting stucked and the anger Straps shows us feels so true. Brixton is a the same sort of song and much depends on their singer because he sounds more than angry. 16 songs of pure and clean punkhistory with one of  the punkworlds not so known groups.(EIGHT) 26/4-05
