SOUTHGATES-CITRUS TREE(SINGEL-HILJAISET LEVYT HIKS-090)

Den här gruppen låter faktiskt precis som jag hade hoppats på för de här ganska unga killar ser ut att ha attityd och då menar jag inte att de ser punkiga ut utan de har en mer ungdomlig rebellisk look. Citrus Tree är en låt som kommer att få mig att tänka på band som Jesus and Mary Chain och detta beror nog på de distade gitarrerna de har i både i Citrus Tree och London Time. De har en tyngd på det där sköna indiepopliknande soundet och mer grupper jag tänker på är om Smiths varit hårdare hade de låtit så här kan jag tänka mig. Det är mycket attityd i deras musik och likt som i Sverige börjar det komma mer och mer unga band som låter som indiepopen storhetstid men ändå gör något eget av det och framför alt är det attityden jag gillar. Borde kunna bli ett band som blir hypat av recensenter och publiken borde strömma till deras spelningar så vi får väl som om jag får rätt….26/5-2026

This group actually sounds exactly as I had hoped for because these really young guys seem to have attitude and I don ́t mean that they look punky but they have a more youthful rebellious look. Citrus Tree is a song that will make me think of bands like Jesus and Mary Chain and this is probably due to the distorted guitars they have in both Citrus Tree and London Time. They have a weight on that nice indiepop-like sound and more groups I think about is if Smiths had been harder they would have sounded like this I can imagine. There is a lot of attitude in their music and like in Sweden it starts to come more and more young bands that sound like indie pop heyday but still do something of their own with it and above all it is the attitude I like. Should be able to become a band that gets hyped by reviewers and the audience should flock to their gigs so we get it right....26/5-2026
