HOTKNIVES-ABOUT TIME(CD-SUNNY BASTARDS SBCD076)

Jag har en split tillsammans med The Riffs innan jag fick denna skiva…Här blir det inga överraskningar men det betyder inte att det är bra musik för det. Som ett punkigare Madness ger oss Hotknives riktigt bra skamusik med en liten liten punktouch…Blåset sitter där det ska och rytmerna och baktakten är helt underbar och jag skulle kunna skriva en massa lyriska saker över denna grupp men jag stannar nog på att det är jävligt bra skamusik och det räcker egentligen så för är man inne på den typen av musik så kommer man att älska Hotknives för det är en rytm som gör mig nästan febrig av dansbegär och det känns som om det rycker i mina ben som inte precis älskar att dansa men jag känner för det just nu…. 24/3-2014

I have a split with The Riffs before I got this CD ... Here there will be no surprises but that does not mean it's good music for it. As a punkier Madness gives us Hotknives really good ska music with a small little punk touch ... The horns sits where it should, and the rhythms and skatouch is awesome and I could write a bunch of lyrical stuff over this group but I stay enough that it's damn good ska music and that's enough really so for the man inside on that kind of music then you will love Hotknives for it is a rhythm that makes me almost feverish dancing desires and it feels like it jerks in my legs that do not just love to dance but I feel like it right now .... 24/3-2014

Two original ska  LP´s on 1 CD heter denna serie. Först ut är Hot Knives som spelar live och de gör det bra. Det rycker i mina ben när de öser loss på detta sätt och man blir glad på det där speciella sättet som man bara kan bli av ska. Ta lite Specials, lite Madness och en dos lite äldre skamusik så är Hot Knives ett faktum. Man känner hur det rycker i benen när den här typen av musik kommer ur högtalarna. Holsten Boys är min absoluta favoritlåt för där lyser Clash/Specials influenserna igenom riktigt mycket.  Riffs Madness-influenser är mer påtagliga och helt klart är det en trevlig liten LP de släppte ut och tempot i deras musik kan man inte klaga på. Jag tycker nog att Riffs överträffar Hot Knives med sina låtar men mycket av detta beror säkert på att Hot Knives skiva var liveinspelad.  21/11-05

Two original ska  LP´s on 1 CD this compilation is called. First out is Hot knives which plays live and they do it good. It´s sparkling in my legs when they´re on like this and you get happy in that special way that you only can be of ska. Take some Specials, some Madness and some dozes of older skamusic and then Hot Knives is a fact. You can feel how it bubbles in legs when this type of music comes out of my stereo. Holsten boys is my own favouritesong because there the Clash/specialsinfluences is like the most brilliant. Riffs Madness-influences is more than Hot Knives and it´s a really nice LP they was releasing back then and we can´t complain on the tempo in their music. I think that Riffs is better than Hot Knives with their songs but it depends a lot of the fact that Hot Knives record is liverecorded. 21/11-05
