FOREIGN LEGION-THE EARLY YEARS(LP-PUKE N VOMIT PNV 102)

Efter många om och men med strul med betalning, post och tull så har jag fått denna skivan. Det är en samling med låtar mellan från 80-talet , två singlar och  en gammal kassett. Härligt att få uppleva musik som här återupplivas igen och det var ju ett tag sedan detta kom ut från början. Börjar med Distress Signals demo och jag får nästan en känsla av att de lyssnat mer på Crass än oimusik just i inledningen. Lite tunt ljud men en skön upplevelse tycker jag att få höra tidiga inspelningar. Kul basgång i TV escape som påminner om Eater eller en känd Slaughter and the dogs-basslinga och jag gillar soundet på demon trots det lite tunna ljudet. På baksidan återfinner vi deras första två singlar. Trenchline och Surf City och på låten Trenchline är det en tjej på sång och låten lyfter och jag tänker Dirt/Crass igen. Annars är det en skön stil de har på de tidiga singlarna tycker jag och man hör att de har utvecklats en del. Men känslan på deras singlar är riktigt skön och när kvinnlig sång finns med som komplement blir det riktigt fräckt. Man märker att ljudet blir bättre på varje skiva och jag älskar låten Surf city och hela den singeln. Kul LP att äga 21/9-2021

After many ifs and buts with hassle with payment, mail and customs, I have received this record. It's a collection of songs from the 80´s - two singles and an old cassette. It's great to experience music that's been resurrected here and it's been a while since this came out in the first place. Starting with distress signals demo and I almost get the feeling that they listened more to Crass than oimusic right in the introduction. A little thin sound but a nice experience I think to hear early recordings. Fun bass line in TV escape reminiscent of Eater or a famous Slaughter and the dogs bass loop and I like the sound of the demo despite the slightly thin sound. On the back we find their first two singles. Trenchline and Surf City and on the song Trenchline there is a girl on song and the song lifts and I think Dirt/Crass again. Otherwise, it's a nice style they have on the early singles I think and you hear that they have developed a lot. But the feeling on their singles is really nice and when female singing is included as a complement, it becomes really cool. You can see that the sound gets better on every record and I love the song Surf city and the whole single. Fun LP to own 21/9-2021

Marcus som sjunger i walesiska Foreign legion hörde av sig till mig och vi gjorde en intervju och han skickade denna skiva som är den senaste plus nedanstående som är från 2016. De har hållit på lika länge som jag har gjort mitt fanzine och det är väl skönt med människor som inte ger upp. PÅ den här skivan låter de inte som om de har hållit på så länge utan tempot är högt och de låter förbannade måste jag säga Marcus sjunger riktigt bra och har verkligen en röst som passar in till den hårda punk/streetpunken som Foreign Legion framför. Tio låtar med titlar som Bullshit, She´s a punk och Start a war och punken är sig lik. Gillar ni band som Anti-Nowhere League, Sham 69, Angelic Upstarts, One Way System så kommer ni att älska detta om ni mot förmodan hade missat bandet innan. 19/7-2019

Marcus who sings in the Welsh Foreign Legion wrote to me and we did an interview and he sent this record which is the latest plus below which is from 2016. They have kept on palying as long as I have done my fanzine and it is well done with people who do not give up. On this album they do not sound as if they have been playing for so long because the pace is fast and they sound angry, I have to say Marcus is singing really well and really has a voice that fits in with the hard punk / street punk as Foreign Legion are doing. Ten songs with titles like Bullshit, She´s a punk and Start a war and the punk is as it always have been. If you like bands like Anti-Nowhere League, Sham 69, Angelic Upstarts, One Way System then you will love this if you have probably missed the band before. 19/7-2019

Denna skiva kom som sagt ut 2016 och vi har lite låtar som hyöllar punken I slutet känns det som eller vad sags om låtarna This is our music och Still no punks in my town. Annars är det en grupp som verkligen övertygar mig med sin streetpunkliknande musik. De har ett snabbt sound här också men Marcus röst ligger över musiken på ett sätt som jag gillar. Precis som på skivan innan så är det vanliga streetpunkband som det låter som. Precis så här vill i alla fall jag att streetpunk ska låta. En skiva som jag känner för att spela om och om igen och även om den kom ut 2016 så låter de ten hel del 80-tal om den och då menar jag på ett positivt sätt. Nästan så att jag drömmer mig tillbaka när man var ung och vacker…nu är man bara …..Lätt att sjunga med i och det gillar jag för den är typen ska vara lätt att sjunga med i och på en konsert ska det vara allsång i refrängerna. This album came out as stated in 2016 and we have some songs that celebrate punk at the end it feels like or what about the songs This is our music and Still no punks in my town. Otherwise, it is a group that really convinces me with their streetpunk-like music. They have a quick sound here too, but Marcus voice lies above the music in a way I like. Just like on the record before, it is the usual streetpunk band that it sounds like. Just like this, at least I want streetpunk to sound. A record that I feel to play over and over again and even though it came out in 2016, they sound quite a bit about the 80's and then I mean in a positive way. Almost so that I dream back when you were young and beautiful… now I am just… ..Easy to sing along in and I like it because it is the type to be easy to sing along with and in a concert it should be singing from all the audience in the choruses. Buy it for fucks sake! 19/7-2019

Det här bandet kommer väl från Wales och jag hade en skiva med dem innan. Kom inte riktigt ihåg hur de lät men vet att jag gillade dem. De lät precis som jag trodde fast till och med lite bättre faktiskt och det är en feeling av 1977 som jag får när jag lyssnar på dem inledningsvis. Det finns några låtar om sprit eller vad sägs om Drunken Heroes och en om George Best(men jag tror i och för sig inte den handlar om honom men han hade ju problem med spriten). Men det är väldigt välspelad punkrock som verkligen är tidstypisk den tidiga punken och just därför låter de väldigt äkta på något sätt. Oimusik är nog ordet egentligen för detta och man längtar nästan tillbaks till 80-talet och oi-samlingarna som kom då..3/10-2014

FOREIGN LEGION-LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL(CD-KBR RECORDS KNR 104)

This band will come from Wales and I had a record with them before. Did not really remember how they sounded but know that I liked them. They sounded just as I thought though even a little better and actually it is a feeling of 1977 that I get when I listen to them initially. There are some songs about booze or how about Drunken Heroes and one of George Best (but I think in itself is not it all about him, but he had a drinking problem). But it's very well played punk rock really is time the typical early punk and because they allow very authentic in any way. Oimusic is really an enough word for this, and one longs almost back to the 80's and oi-collections that came then..3/10-2014
