DUEL-LET´S FINISH WHAT WE STARTED(CD-FFRUK FFRUK CD06) Vi i Sverige har ju Sounds som spelar lite Blondieaktig newwavepunk och England verkar ha Duel. Pat Collier från Vibrators har producerat och Know från samma grupp sjunger med dem i The Duel. Musikaliskt ligger de kanske inte så långt ifrån den gruppen men med skillnaden att de har en kvinnlig sångerska. Kanske inte riktigt punk musikaliskt utan mer new wave som sagt för riktigt farliga blir de aldrig men helt klart ligger melodierna där de skall så vi får en riktigt trevlig stund av underhållning. De kör två covers , den ena är Pet Semetary av Ramones och den andra Ain´t it fun av Dead Boys…båda gör de bra men det kanske skulle räckt med de egna låtarna ändå. Skönt med band som inte hänger på någon trend utan gör det de verkligen gillar och det känns som om The Duel gör det.(SJU) 5/9-06 |

Pat Collier from Vinratots have produced this and Knox sings along with them in The Duel. Musically they´re not so far away from that group but with the difference that they have a female singer. Maybe not really punk musically because it's more new wave as I said because really dangerous they never become but the melodies is where they should be and we get a really nice entertainment for a while. They do two covers, one is Pet Semetary from Ramones and the other is Ain´t it fun by Dead Boys…they do both really good but it would be enough with their own songs. It's nice with bands which not goes along with a trend and it feels like if The Duel really does the things they like to do.(SEVEN) 5/9-06 |
