BRÄND-SJUK STAD(LP-AVART RECORDS 002)

Ensidig LP och de menar jag inte att musiken är enformig utan att det bara är musik på en av sidorna. Göteborgsskildringen på omslaget är träffande och denna stad kanske förfaller. De kallar det Sjuk stad och det är en riktigt bra skiva som man önskade att den hade haft två sidor om man säger så. Man får känslan av tidig hardcorebandet när man läser texterna i det medföljande zines och med framsidan som verkligen beskriver en stad i förfall. De känns rebelliska och upproriska och deras hårda punk ackompanjeras verkligen av texter som känns viktiga. Jag gillar textraderna i Leva Fritt eller vad sägs om Jag har alla bokstäver, du är analfabet….den låten har ett annorlunda sound och jag tänker nästan på tidiga Killing Joke när man hör gitarrljudet som är lite annorlunda. Men i det stora hela är det en grupp jag verkligen tror på och framtiden för Sveriges hårda musik är här och jag älskar bara den desperata sången och någon gång tänker jag faktiskt på en gammal grupp som heter UK Decay om någon minns dem. Hade de kommit på 80-talet och kommit från England så hade de släppts på Crass Records. 7/6-2026

One-sided LP and I don't mean that the music is monotonous but that it's only music on one of the sides. The depiction of Gothenburg on the cover is apt and this city may be falling into disrepair. They call it Sjuk stad and it ́s a really good record which you wish it had had two sides if you say so. You get the feeling of early hardcore band when you read the lyrics in the accompanying zines and with the front cover that really describes a city in decay. They feel rebellious and rebellious and their hard punk is really accompanied by lyrics that feel important. I like the lyrics in Leva Fritt or how about I have all the letters, you are illiterate....that song has a different sound and I almost think of early Killing Joke when you hear the guitar sound which is a little different. But on the whole it's a group I really believe in and the future of Sweden's hard music is here and I just love the desperate vocals and at some point I actually think of an old group called UK Decay if anyone remembers them. If they had come in the 80's and come from England, they would have been released on Crass Records. 7/6-2026
