BLISTERHEAD-THE STORMY SEA(CD-LAKETOWN RECORDS LTR-020)

 

Blisterhead har ju hållit på ett tag och nu är det första skivsläppet sedan 2017 och det första albumsläppet på 6 år. En skiva värd att vänta på och jag blir alltid glad när jag hör gruppen. Jag tror inte att någon som gillar Blisterhead sedan innan kommer att bli besviken på de 12 nya låtarna för här snackar vi om snabbspelad och också välspelad punkrock men mycket melodier oche n hel del olika influenser. Monsters har nästan ett sound som får mig att tänka på folkpunk på något underligt sätt men så bra den är. Det känns som en mer varierad skiva än vanligt och då menar jag inte att den spretar på fel sätt utan det blir aldrig tjatigt att lyssna på den för den snabba musiken känns nyanserad i mångt och mycket. Jag gillar körerna i Skeletons och det finns så mycket olika saker jag lägger märke till på skivan och framförallt är det nog spelglädjen och jag hoppas att många upptäcker denna eminenta punkskiva. Skivan blir bara och bättre ju längre man lyssnar och det ä ren av årets skivor. 3/6-2021

Blisterhead has been around for a while and now is the first record release since 2017 and the first album release in 6 years. An album worth the wait and I always get happy when I hear the group. I do not think that anyone who likes Blisterhead before will be disappointed with the 12 new songs because here we are talking about fast-playing and also well-played punk rock but a lot of melodies and a lot of different influences. Monsters almost has a sound that makes me think of folk punk in some weird way but how good it is. It feels like a more varied record than usual and then I do not mean that it spreads in the wrong way, but it never gets annoying to listen to it because the fast music feels nuanced in many ways. I like the choirs in Skeletons and there are so many different things I notice on the record and above all it is probably the joy of playing and I hope that many people discover this eminent punk record. The records become better and better more you listen to it and it must be one of this years best records. 3/6-2021

Unik blandning av 70-talsmusik och 50-talsmusik står det i pressreleasen och jag vet inte jag. Det låter mer som en beskrivning av Misfits än Blisterhead men i Valley of the Dead tycker jag mig höra lite av den beskrivningen och att den passar in ganska bra! Det är melodiskt och det är musik som jag bara älskar. Den låten seglar upp som min favoritlåt på skivan. Annars finns ju både Rancid-influenser likaväl som Clash-influenser och på det stora hela är det enda jag saknar på denna EP:N det är mer låtar för jag skulle vilja ha haft minst tio låtar till i samma stil för denna typ av punkrock är ju så trevlig att lyssna till…4/5-2017

Unique mix of 70s and 50s music it´s written in the press release and I do not know. It sounds more like a description of Misfits than Blisterhead, but in Valley of the Dead, I think I hear a bit of that description and it fits in quite well! It's melodic and it's music I just love. That song looks like my favorite song on the record. Otherwise, there are both Rancid influences as well as Clash influences and on the whole the only thing I miss on this EP is that there are more songs because I would like to have at least ten songs more in the same style because this type of punk rock is so nice to listen to ... 4/5-2017
BLISTERHEAD-VIA CASALINA(CD-RED ANGEL RAR 003)

Jag har ju följt bandet sedan de föddes(nästan och då menar jag bandet). Jag gillade de första gången jag hörde dem men denna skiva, vilken bra skiva. Gillar ni modern punkrock a´la Rancid och blandar det med lite svensk punk(melodierna i några av låtarna) så är detta verkligen något för er. Kanske lite av Shane MacGowans(Pogues) röst här också och lägg till detta fantastiska körer i bakgrunden och det känns som om vi har fått ett album som är värt att gå rakt in i Sveriges punkhistoria som ett av de bättre alstrena på väldigt länge. Köper ni inte denna skiva får ni skylla er själva för bättre skiva än denna får ni leta efter länge.29/10-04

I have followed the band since they were born(almost and then I mean the band). I liked them the first time I heard them but this record is really good. Do you like modern punkrock a´la Rancid and mixed that with a little bit of Swedish punk(the melodies in some of the songs) so is this really something for you. Maybe a little bit of Shane MacGowan(Pogues) voice also and put to this some fantastic backgroundvocals and it feels like if we have got an album worth going into Swedish punkhistory as one of the best ones in a very long time. Don´t you buy this record you have to blame yourself because better record that this you can´t get for a long time. 29/10-04

Mina gamla favoriter, demobandet Blisterhead har fått ut sin fullängdare. Sprängfylld med 18 snabba och glada låtar och alla 18 har blivit personliga favoriter denna tisdagsförmiddag. Självklart finns det referenser till Rancid, Clash och andra klassiska punkband men någonstans har de bevarat sina svenska influenser på något sätt och det känns som om det hörs någonstans och det skall de ha all heder av. Att såhär bra musik kan komma från Falköping som ändå är en ganska liten stad och att fyra så trevliga grabbar med ungefär samma musikstil har träffats så här. 24/6-03

My old favourites, the demoband Blisterhead have got out their fullength. Is really filled with 18 fast and happy songs and all 18 have been personal favourites this tuesday morning. Of corse it´s references to Clash, Rancid and other classical punkbands but somewhere they haven´t forgot their Swedish influences in some way and it feels like it can be heard there and that shall honour them. That this sort of good music can come from Falköping which is a really little city and that four of those really nice guys can meet each other and like the same musicstyle in this way, amazing. 24/6-03
