No Reward comes from Switzerland and is a really good hardcore/metalband. They don´t want to talk about politics but some other things go through their pens. December-2015

 

Please tell me a little bit history of the group?

-Five dudes from different bands found together in 2012 to start a new Hardcore project.

 

Please tell me a little about every member in the group,Earlier bands?

-Hak, Guitar, singer in the Band ‚HAK‘ and member of ‚Scream4‘

Römi, Guitar + Vocals, ex member of ‚Judges‘ and ‘Scream Your Name’

Flo, Drums, ex member of ‘Mortal Hatred’

Xändu, Bass, ex member of ‘Cronic Syndrome’

Mike, Vocals + Guitar, ex member of ‘Cronic Syndrome’

 

I can hear much different influences but hardcore and a little bit metal? Favorites from the past?

-Yes, a lot of influences in Metal, Hardcore, Rap. To many to list them all.

 

No reward are you satisfied with the name? How did it came up?

-Very satisfied. We read the word ‘Reward’ on a badge on a friends jacket, and decided to use it as our bandname. But instead of ‘Reward’ we thought ‘No Reward’ fits better to our sound.

 

What´s the best thing with playing live?

-Playing live! The energy, the people, the booze…

 

And where is best to play? And the worst place?

-Doesn’t matter where, we just love to play live, even if there are only 30 people.

 

How is to play this sort of music in Switzerland right now? Which types of bands do you have concerts together with?

The scene is definitely alive, but underground.

So far we played shows with ‚Blown‘, ‚Insanity‘ and other bands from Switzerland.

 

How would you describe your music in three words?

-Powerfull. Aggressive. Fresh.

 

What does punk mean to you, is it only a word or is it a lifestyle

-We’re not Punks :)

 

How do you see on downloading, mp3 and that stuff?

-As long as people listen to our music, come to our shows and enjoy it, everything is fine.

 

How is it to live in Switzerland now? Politically? 

-We don’t talk about politics in this interview. It would take hours to give a full statement. But we’re glad to have the privilege to use our freedom of speech.

 

Is there any good bands from Switzerland now?  Is the punkscene/hardcorescene big?  How is it in your hometown? Any good old bands from Switzerland you like?

-Breakdown Of Sanity‘, ‚Promethee‘, ‚Insanity‘, ‚A Small District‘, ‚Vale Tudo‘

The scene is big enough to play nice shows.

Good old bands from Switzerland are ‚Coroner‘ and ‚Cataract‘

 

What do you know about Sweden? 

-If you want to get drunk, you need a lot of money :)

 

Have you heard any good bands from Sweden?

-Millencolin‘, ‚Johnossi‘, ‚In Flames‘

 

Your lyrics, who does them and what influences you?  Never in your own language?

-Mike and Römi. Our influence is the everyday life and socially critical worldwide questions.

No, not in Swiss German, ‘HAK‘ does that.

 

Is there any subject that you never will write anything about??

-Bitches :)

 

Politic and music, does it goes hand in hand?  Which is your most political song?

-Yes sure! ‚Never Let Them Take‘, our song against racism. Video on youtube soon…

-Bob Dylan‘, ‚Rage Against The Machine‘, ‚Tommy Vercetti‘

 

Do you think that music(lyrics and so on) can change anyones life, I mean people who listens to music?

-Yes for sure!

 

Your cover on your CD looks really nice, is it important to have a record cover which shows people which type of music you play? Who does your covers?  And do you have any good recordstores in your hometown?

-It’s only important that we like it.

Carlo Knöpfel from ‚Breakdown Of Sanity‘ made our CD-Design.

Rockaway Beach is a nice recordstore in Bern.

Is it important to get out physical records of your stuff? Why or why not?  ?

-Yes, because it’s touchable and the design shows its full potential.

 

Please tell me a funny thing which have happened during your career and under some gig?

-The car rides to the shows are always crazy and funny. The most fun things are insider jokes.

 

How does your audience look like? Which people do you miss on your concerts?  

-Drunk and in motion :)

We miss Taylor Swift at our concerts, she never shows up :)
