Maid of Ace is four girls which plays really good punky music with a raw sound. Check them out right now. Here they answered my questions after a long time but now we have september 2015.

Please tell me a little bit history of the group?

-Well we just so happened to be born in the same we just kinda ended up with each other really. We moved around alot when we was younger after the split of our mother (Swedish) and father (british) so i think with us all being only a year apart in age and under the same influence, when me and Abby started jammin in our loft, the rest just followed. We couldnt play for shit but it was the only thing that we loved doing so we kept at it n played our first show a year later at our high school in 2005....and now here we are...

Please tell me a little about every member in the group right now, age, family, work, interests and something bad about everyone?

-Hasnt anyone ever told ya not to ask a girls age?!! Ha we're all in our early twenteeeens! and when we're not makin a bloody racket we're out getting drunk and when we're not getting drunk we're pouring pints at the local pub and trying to act sober. hmmmm something bad about ourselves....come on tour with us n find out for yourself!

Maid of ace, how did the name came up good name it important to have a good name? Which is the best bandname you know??

-Ha really? Its abit crap....but its the first name we came up with n shit sticks....its basically Maid, as in our maiden names and young unmarried woman, and Ace being all our initials are A.C.E ....or somethin like that! ha....i dont think band name is important, if you make good music people will like your name anyways. We played with a band called "The Horny Bitches" before, ha wont forget that one

You have good raw sound? Is that music which influences most?

-Raw is real! so yeah, but we like all kinds of music, not just 'punk'....whatever suits the mood ya know...

Whats the best thing with playing live?

-The crowd of course! you Never know whats gonna happen!...people come to watch us and we come to watch them! Its  entertaining for us too!

And where is best to play?

-In the world? Germany so far....sick scene out there, London of course and our hometown Hastings, theres still lots of countries we have' nt played yet, Sweden being one of them!!! ....we'll get there though!!

How is it to play this sort of music in England? Do you have any advantages because of your all female band?

-Same as anywhere else, theres still punks in England ya'know! ha Girls, boys, black, white, I think we have an advantage coz we can write a half decent tune. If someone comes to watch us coz they like our faces then so be it!.....they'll soon realise we aint so pretty when we start shoutin'.

How would you describe your music in three words?

What does punk mean to you, is it only a word or is it a lifestyle?

-To us it means D.I.Y.....DO IT YOURSELF!!!....and thats what we do! its our-way or the highway!....maybe thats why no big label will touch us....we can only hope. ha

How do you see on downloading, mp3 and that stuff?

-Its all good, but you dont make as much money from it...The only reason we havnt put up our stuff digitally yet is coz we want people to buy our cds, we aint rich! we need to make money to carry on goin'...However we're releasing Our current album on Vinyl, which will include a free download of the album too.

How is it to live in England now? Politically?

-We're not a political band, but we've always been pretty skint n sometimes had to go on the dole and now you cant even do that if your under 25 or some shit....hows the young-ones gonna get drunk on the streets now u tight bastards! .

Is there any good bands from England now?

Ive noticed alot more female powered bands springing into action of late!....and some refreshing new bands like "Hands Off Gretel" is good to see..

What do you know about Sweden?

-It snows ALOT in winter and theres alot of moose, we only lived there for 6 months when we was younger, even went to school for a bit.....its a really beautiful country, but we missed England too much, home is where the heart is! Would love to go back there, so will have to get some shows! HOOK US UP!

Your lyrics, who does them and what influences you?

-Usually me (Ali) and Anna, we're the brains in this bitch could be anything, whatever we're feeling at the time....the best songs come out of nowhere, when your not even trying to write a song....when your on the bog or sumink...ha

Do you think that music(lyrics and so on) can change anyones life)I mean people who listens to music)?

-Yeah, theres been songs and lyrics that have changed my life Im sure!

Are you doing any covers live?

- "Rules & Regulations' by Fuzzbox, who we got the honour of performing it with one of their membeers Maggie at Rebellion festival which was bad ass!....we also sometimes cover 'Im a Cliche' by X-Ray spex.

Please tell me a funny thing which have happened during your career and under some gig? -Ive had a guy take off he's 'skirt' n throw it and it land on my face! o reveal hes butt naked underneath!!!....not that funny for me, but probly funny to you...

Please rank your five favoriterecords, five favoriteconcerts and five most important things in life?

-Important thing in life is happiness, whatever that may be. go get it

Is it boring with interviews? Which is the most stupid question you ever have got??

-Na we're just Lazy! .....errr......'how did you meet'....WE'RE SISTERS FOR THE LAST TIME! DO A SECONDS RESEARCH.

Do you understand that reviewers always compare bands to other bands? Is that disturbing when you try to something own?

-I love bands that sound different, its refreshing, We're not trying to sound like anyone els, but everyone sounds like someone else before them whether it be faintly or obvioulsy....we dont think we're Special, we just write wat we feel....

Futureplans for the band?
