Face the End comes from Switzerland and plays
really hard music, mostly hardcore but some
metal aswell. Check them out and first of all
read this interview….may-2021
Please tell me a little bit history of the
group?
-Face The End was founded in December 2018.
Originated from the group Under my Skin. After
the first CD, tour and three video clips, singer
Silvi leaves the band. Tek the Machine (drums),
Hauser (guitar) and Teo (bass) stay. From now on
the guys are on the road with a new singer (Mattia),
new sound direction and new name "Face The End".
The first two concerts of their tour Face The
End played in January 2020 in Bern and Thun.
After that the European tour 2020/2020 had to be
cancelled because of Corona. The release of the
first CD "Face The End" was in March 2021.
Please tell me a little about every member in
the group right now, age, family, work,
interests and something bad about everyone?

I can hear much different influences but mostly
hardcore a a little tiny bit of metal ?
Favorites from the past?
-Killswitch Engage, Godforbid, Metallica,
Hatebreed, Slayer, Iron Maiden, The Ghost
Inside, DVSR, Chimaira, As i lay dying, First
Blood.
Face the end are you satisfied with the name?
Not the most positive name
😉How
did it came up? You weren’t afraid that some
other band would be named like this? Which is
the best bandname you know?
-The plan was first "The End". But there are
already a thousand times on the net. Therefore
Face The End, the best band name is of course
FACE THE END
What´s the best thing with playing live? Do you
miss it nowadays?
-The best part is enjoying Face The End and
putting your heart into everything for the band.
But with a band, there's more to it than playing
live. We've rebuilt the rehearsal space,
recorded an album and produced two video clips
during the Corona period. In addition, we are
increasingly on the road in social media. We are
happy about a great feedback on Spotify and
Youtube. The video clip "Pretended" already has
over 100`000 clicks. But it is still clear that
playing live is the greatest and we are looking
forward to it.
And where is best to play? And the worst place?
Have you played outside Switzerland?
-With Face The End difficult to answer, because
the tour was canceled. But with past bands we
were on the road at home and abroad. Like for
example, Germany, France, Poland and even
America.
How is to play this sort of music in Switzerland
right now? Which types of bands do you have
concerts together with?
-It's very cool, because we can be classified
well in the sound direction. That's why we are
also in contact with hardcore metal bands and on
the road.
How would you describe your music in three
words?
-"Face The End" or "in the face" (Our Sound)
What does punk mean to you, is it only a word or
is it a lifestyle?
-Tek The Machine is influenced by punk. Die
Ärzte (DE), for example, is the band he visits
most often at concerts. Singer Mattia was still
active in punk bands as a teenager.
Which song/album or group was it who took you
into punk/hardcore/metal?
-Are various. See question 3. But certainly
Perseverance by Hatebreed
What shall a young guy do today to shock their
parents as the way we did when we were young?
They have already seen everything ;-)?
-I think the shock effect with unilaterally
shaved and blue/green colored hair and
spontaneously fully pierced and tattooed body
parts is certainly still there. Even if the
parents have already seen everything.
How is it to live in Switzerland right now?
Politically? Fascists? The
Covidsituation?
-We are aware that we are doing well and
appreciate it. Different political disagreements
and fascists will unfortunately always exist. In
the covid situation it is like with all topics,
there are different opinions about it. This is
also good. Whether truth, utopia or conspiracy
theory, we do our thing.
Are there any good bands from Switzerland right
now? Is the punkscene/metalscene/hardcorescene
big? How is it in your hometown?
-Yes for sure there are. For example of course
Face the End from Switzerland :) There are very
good metal/hardcore bands all over the world, we
like Dark tranquility or of course the legendary
Raised Fist.
What do you know about Sweden? Have you been
here sometime? Is it so for you too that people
mix Sweden and Switzerland together and don´t
know which is which?
-Tek the Machine has been to Denmark and Sweden
a few times. He also knows the phenomenon from
the USA. Someone asks where are you from? From
Switzerland...then the answer of the American
is. Ah yes, your from Schweeden. But we think
the Swedes and Swiss have already gotten used to
it.
Have you heard any good bands from Sweden?
-Clawfinger, Hammerfall, Meshuggah, 2 Ton
Predator, Amon Amart, Arch Enemy, At the Gates,
Blinded Colony, Bloodbath, By Night,
Construcdead, Dark Tranquillity, Darkane,
Deathstars, Ghost, The Haunted, Hyprocrisy,
Impious, In Flames, Katatonia, Naglfar,
Nightrage, One Man Army And The Undead Quartet,
Opeth, Pain, Scar Symmetry, Soilwork, Sonic
Syndicate, Terror 2000, Tiamat, Transport League
u.s.w.
Your lyrics, who does them and what influences
you? Never in any other language than english?
-Mattia: I write mostly in English, some lyrics
are in German. I am influenced by everything
that happens around me. Be it nature or even
events that occupy me. The virus didn't really
influence my lyrics, because I always wrote very
socially critical before.
Is there any subject that you never will write
anything about? Or isn´t anything sacred?
-So far I have never written a love song and I
very likely never will.
Politic and music, does it goes hand in hand?
Which is your most political song? Is it
important to get out your opinions in music?
-I think everyone should write what he wants.
Most likely you could say that I write very
critical of people. "Here we go" is a good
example, the song is about the fact that we
destroy our own earth and thus ourselves.
Best political band/artist? Best unpolitical
band?
-One of the best political bands I find, the
German punk band Fahnenflucht, great lyrics and
I like the hard matching sound to it.
The Ghost Inside is for me one of the best
hardcore bands, but since I do not know all the
lyrics by heart, I do not know if they also have
political songs.
Do you think that music(lyrics and so on) can
change anyones life, I mean people who listens
to music?
-Yes, music certainly influences people and can
also change them. Die Böhse Onkelz or DieToten
Hosen are for me the best examples of how much
music can accompany or influence people. There
is nothing better than shouting out the same
song lyrics with several thousand people.
Your favorite recordcover alltime? Who does
your recordcovers?
-Tek: IRON MAIDEN Powerslave
Hauser: IRON MAIDEN 2 minutes to midnight
Mattia: Drowning Pool – Desensitized
Hauser, our guitarist do the recordcovers.
Is it important to get out physical records of
your stuff? Why or why not? Vinyl, CD, cassette,
what do you prefer if you could choose whatever
?
-We discussed for a long time whether we should
produce another physical CD. This time we still
did it. Whether it will be the same for the next
one, we don't know yet. Digital media have also
become much more important for us.
Please tell me a funny thing which have happened
during your career and under some gig?
-Tek: Fell off the stage with the drum chair to
the back. Tek disappeared as if David
Copperfield had spirited him away. The cold fire
was ignited at the wrong moment and singer
Mattia was so to say in the flames :-)
How does your audience look like?
-HC Audience
Which people do you miss on your concerts?
-At the moment all.
Which is the biggest band you ever have played
together with?
-Tek with his band "draven" as support band of
H.I.M.
Mattia with Road To Nowhere as support band of
Fear Factory
Is there anyone of your fans which have done
some tattoo with your name or something similar
to salute you?
-So far unfortunately no..
Please rank your five favoriterecords, five

in life?
-Iron Maiden "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son",

blood, south of heaven / Metallica: Kill em all

Is it boring with interviews? Is it much
interviews?
-No fortunately not so many, but this one has by
far the most questions :)....
Do you care about reviews? Which is the most
peculiar you ever had, with this band or any
other band you have been to?
-Yes, we can handle critics well and gives us
idea for our future. We are also happy about a
criticism from you. And definitely when Tek
disappeared in the smoke and not even we could
see him :-)
Which bands do people compare you to, is it
boring that people compare you to other bands or
is it understandable?
-In our video clips on Youtube, the comments say
In Flames, Parkway Drive and Pro-Pain. We
recorded in the same studio as Pro-Pain.
If you could choose five bands from the past and
the history and nowadays and both dead and
living bands to have a concert together with
your band. Which five have you been chosen?
-Hatebreed, Slipknot, Metallica, Raised Fist,
First Blood
Is music a good way to get out frustration and
become a nicer person outside the music??
-Mhh, we make music for joy not for frustration.
When we have a bad day, we go to the practice
room and scream and beat our souls out,
afterwards we feel like newborn.
Which is the most odd question you ever have got
in an interview? Except this one then….
-Mattia: Why I have a mohawk haircut.
Which is the question you want to have but you
never get. Please ask it and answer it?
-When will you play in Hallenstadion (big
concert hall in Switzerland) - On the next tour
2021/2022.
Futureplans for the band?
-Shooting of the third video clip, finally
playing live again.
For yourself?
-Like above.
Wisdomword?
-Relationshit
Something to add?
-Listen to Face the End and you will survive
Lyssna på Face the End och du kommer att
överleva.
