Alfatec from Italy plays some sort of old hardcore but it seems that have listened more to American than old Italian hardcore… here´s an interview with them done in march 2015.

Please tell me a little bit history of the group?

-Hi everybody! We are Alfatec from Florence, Italy. We start in 2005, never change lineup but during these years we learn how to play our instruments, we grow all togheter and after 10 years we can finally define us a band.

Please tell me a little about every member in the group right now, age, family, work, interests and something bad about everyone? Have you been in any other punkbands before?

-Gilberto (drum): 32, construction worker

Marco (guitar): 29, worker in a print company

Simone (bass): 29, electrotechnical

Tommaso (vocal): 30, agricoltural wanker

I can hear much early American hardcore and not so much old Italian hardcore I think? Am I right? Favorites from the past?

-Yes you are right, we really love italian school but its not our favourite sound to play. We start this band listening Raw Power, they don't sound like but they are italian 100%

Alfatec are you satisfied with the name? How did it came up? Is there any deeper meaning with the name ? Which is the best bandname you know ?

-Ahahah not really, we was young when we decide it. We was getting high and drunk on rhearsal room just before our first live show, it supposed to be a temprary name, it's pass 10 years...... Absolutely not deeper meaning with the name.

What´s the best thing with playing live?

-Free beer and meet new people everytime

And where is best to play? And the worst place?

-Very difficult question, we played almost 300 concert around the planet since we start, too many good places and too many bad places as well......usually we don't care about the place, we just wanna play!

How is to play this sort of music in Italy right now?

-Not so easy, punkrock is not trendy anymore and sometime the audience is quite crap, but we don't care about that, we just continue on our way.

How would you describe your music in three words?

-True. Fast. Powerful

What does punk mean to you, is it only a word or is it a lifestyle?

-Of course is a lifestyle or at least a way to see what is around you, being punk means have a special approach to life. It's not just a word or a kind of music, it's something more.

How do you see on downloading, mp3 and that stuff?

-It's the present and the future of music, of course vinyl are more beautiful and romantic but we don't have anything against digital format.

How is it to live in Italy now? Politically?

-Italy is a wonderful country, we love our hometown but politically the situation it's really bad, the things are not going well and all our stupid politicians don't have any idea how to work for the peoples. In Italy doesn't exist good politicians, just motherfuckers.

Is there any good bands from Italy now? Is the punkscene big? How is it in your hometown?

-Yeah of course, Italy is full of good bands (too many to say few names) and punkscene is quite big, but it depends on the city of course. In Florence, our hometown, it's not really a good situation, there's no kids and no new bands, we don't know how will be the near future.....

What do you know about Sweden?

-Not to much, we never play there. We just know that is a good place to play, there's a good scene and peoples are interested to foreign and touring band

Have you heard any good bands from Sweden?

-Of course, one of my favorite is Sista Sekunden, what a fucking cool band!!!

Your lyrics, who does them and what influences you?

-Usually, on our lyrics, we talk about everything’s happen around us

Is there any subject that you never will write anything about?

-No, we can write about everything. We don't want to teach anything to anybody, we just want to talk about our lives, nothing more nothing less.

Politic and music, does it goes hand in hand?

-Yes of course, if you feel it, it can goes in the same direction, but if you talk about politics just because is trendy, I mean, if you talk about politics but you don't have nothing interesting to say you looks just an idiot.

Best political band/artist?

-Propagandhi, maybe.

Do you think that music(lyrics and so on) can change anyones life, I mean people who listens to music?

-When you are young, probably yes, music have a huge power for a teenager and it can change lives, not for everybody but it can happen.

Why don´t you sing in Italian on more songs?

-I don't know, we love sing in Italian but maybe we feel more comfortable with English, it's more direct and you can use less words for say something.

Is it important to get out physical records of your stuff? Why or why not?

-Yes of course, without a physical format a records doesn't exist, you have to touch it and feel it, also in digital century physical records are still important.

Please tell me a funny thing which have happened during your career and under some gig?

-One time in Vilnius (Lithuania) a guy start sleeping in front of the stage during our show, just during a violent pogo, the other guys doesn't care and continue to dance around the drunk guy

How does your audience look like? Which people do you miss on your concerts?

-It depends on the place, usually squat and club have a different audience. We would like to see more kids and young people, no kids no future.
