Acid Reign is an old thrashband from Britain which have been so kind to me and answered some questions, they don´t answer so long but it´s anyway answers from a band I have listened to many years.  Harry is the only original member and it is he who have answered the questions. April 2026

Hello and congratulations to your new fantastic record? Are you satisfied with your new record Daze of the Week? 

-Thank you. Yes very satisfied and hoping everyone gets out of it what they want.  

You started the group 1985 and split up in 1991. You started in 2019 and then it was only Howard who was the original member, what happened, didn´t the other original members didn´t want to be part of the reunion? 

-We tried to reform but I e by one each member realised they couldn’t do it for different reasons. So I decided to reboot and they were all cool with that.  

Please tell me a little about todays members, , name, instrument, bands before and on the side of Acid Reign? 

-Matt lead guitar, amazing guitarist and person did five years at Berkeley music college and multiple bands since.  

Darren, rhythm guitar. Known him for ten years, a fan of the band who supported us many times with his own band.  

Johnny Drums. Was in Shrapnel years ago who we toured with and he approached us from out of nowhere. Brilliant replacement for Marc.  

Pete. The bass master General, the heartbeat of AR.  

You have come up in age now if you compare with 1985, what is the best thing with that if you compare when you were young and began to play? 

-It’s more fun now, less of a job.  

Now when Megadeth have put down their instrument , then you should be one of the big four, or what do you think? 

-Ha ha ha ha I think that’s very funny!  

Unfortunelay I sold all my vinyls back in time so nowadays I only have  Obnoxious which I bought some years ago? Is your old records hard to egt and are they expensive? 

-They are very easy to get ALL reissued in 2019 when TAOE came out. 

I think you come from the hardcore/punk movement from the beginning or do I have the wrong idea about you there? 

-No we were always a thrash metal band.  

What is your feelings about punk/´hardcore? Any good bands? 

-Love  it to this very day, Cigar are cool but not really hardcore more melodic really.  

To play this sort of thrashmetal nowadays in Britain, how is it? 

-Same as everywhere else, it’s a battle. To be heard through all the noise but definitely worth it.  

When you play live, you play songs from all your albums or how is it? 

-You will have to wait and see when you come and see us. 

Which song is the favourite song for the audience?  

-Everyone loves Motherly Love.  

Do you have any favouritesongto play? 

-Yes but I cannot say yet as we haven’t played any of the new ones live yet!  

Your lyrics, what does inspire you? 

-Life, thoughts, feelings and all that.  

Politics and music, does it goes hand in hand or is it only punk and hardcoreband which ”must” have those lyrics? 

-Well everyone has to make their own choice. As long as you can defend your position, what ever that may be.  

Who writes the lyrics? 

-I do and always have.

-Honestly I’d rather let people decide what each song is about for themselves. They will mean different things to different people and that’s fine. I like people telling me what they mean to them.  

Nowadays some band only release their music as digital records, nothing for you I hope? 

-Oh no we’ll be releasing  on ALL forums. Back On Black Records are good like that.  

Are you buying much records yourself? 

-I get most stuff sent to me for free to review as I’ve been podcasting for 11 years. Talking Bollocks Podcast check it out!  

How do you listen to music, is it on vinyl, CD. Spotify or what? 

-MP3 mainly, I don’t stream I don’t have any streaming services.  

Can you give me your ten favoriterecords all time? 

-No. It changes depending on how I’m feeling, what day it is etc. Too many to narrow down to ten.  

Do you have some really good bands to mention from England right now? 

-Well Enquire Within have a killer new album out, Tempashot are amazing, Talking Knives and Exhaust.  

How is to live in England right now, with politics, tax, Brexit and so on? 

-It’s harder to tour outside of the UK but that’s not going to stop us!  

What do you know about Sweden overall? Any swedish favorite bands?  

-We played there in 1989 with Nuclear Assault and Dark Angel and I loved it! Really hope to come back touring this album. We’ll there’s ABBA and Entombed right? Ha ha. Probably The Haunted for me.  

Did it ever was any other suggestions to a band name or was Acid Reign the name you fell for at once? 

-We had a few, Tarot, Rat Salad all sorts of terrible names and the Ian suggested Acid Reign and we all said YES!  

When you play live which sort of people comes to your concerts, is it only metalheads or do you have punks and ”normal”! people too? 

-We have ALWAYS had punks at shows and it’s no different today. I love that, I think they recognise our “don’t give a shit” attitude.  

Is there any type of people you miss? 

-No, everyone can enjoy and Acid Reign show!  

Futureplans for the band now? 

-Touring everywhere we can!  

For yourself? 

-I’ll be on that tour I just mentioned!
