TOLSHOCK-THE UNAVOIDABLE DISCOGRAPHY(2LP-CIMEX RECORDS CIMEX 012)

 

En trevlig dubbel LP med Tolshock som var en grupp som innehöll medlemmar från bland annat Dom Där, Counterblast, Warcollapse etc. 50 låtar med ep-låtar, live-låtar och en outgiven Malmö-demo. Går ut hårt med sin singel Spikes and and studs and hard to the core….och först ut är deras lite ironiska låt Oh no….Not another bloody warsong men tyvärr behövs ju sådana låtar. Musikaliskt är det snabbt som bara den och jag hade glömt hur snabbt de spelade. Det var längesedan jag lyssnade på dem. Men det känns som om deras musik och ilska har stått sig riktigt bra och sådan här musik har lika mycket värde idag som när den släpptes och det känns som ett slag i magen att höra de sju låtarna från den singeln. Underbar känsla. Vi får fyra låtar från Malmö-demon och de sjungs på svenska och bara de är värda pengarna. Synd att de inte gjorde mer låtar på svenska egentligen. Sida B inleds med singellåtarna från The Heritage of violence och de har ett sound som jag verkligen gillar för här hörs sången mer men snabbheten har inte försvunnit på något sätt och det är svårt att sitta still till detta. Sedan får vi ju en hel del låtar med svenska texter också vilket jag uppskattar. Luftgitarren är ständigt i bruk när jag lyssnar på gruppen och jag känner även min hand knytas till en knytnäve av kamp. Tre låtar från 1999 års split avslutar sida B tillsammans med Scumbrigade en riktigt bra coverversion av Huvudtvätts låt som heter just rätt och slätt Huvudtvätt…superb cover. Sida C är väl den enda jag hört innan eftersom det är deras Mini-cd Pointless Stand som återfinns där som också var deras första demo Burn. 13 låtar med underbar d-beat och jag tycker och hoppas att Tolshock får ett erkännande såhär 20-25 år senare och därför är denna dubbel-LP ett fantastiskt viktigt arbete. För de är verkligen värda all uppmärksamhet.  Som avslutning på sida D får vi en kaotisk spelning på Christiania och det kanske inte är en livespelning med det bästa ljudet men det visar upp en sida av gruppen som är värda att lyssna på. Ett tidsdokument som alla punkare borde ha i sitt hem! 21/12-2022

A nice double LP with Tolshock which was a group that included members from Dom Där, Counterblast, Warcollapse etc. 50 songs with ep songs, live songs and an unreleased Malmö demo. Going out hard with their single Spikes and and studs and hard to the core....and first up is their slightly ironic song Oh no....Not another bloody warsong but unfortunately such songs are needed. Musically, it's fast as just that and I had forgotten how fast they played. It's been a long time since I listened to them. But I feel like their music and anger have held up really well and music like this has as much value today as it did when it was released and it feels like a punch in the stomach to hear the seven songs from that single. Wonderful feeling. We get four songs from the Malmö demo and they are sung in Swedish and only they are worth the money. Too bad they didn't do more songs in Swedish really. Side B opens with the single songs from The Heritage of violence and they have a sound that I really like because here the vocals are heard more but the speed has not disappeared in any way and it is difficult to sit still to this. Then we get a lot of songs with Swedish lyrics as well, which I appreciate. The air guitar is constantly in use as I listen to the group and I even feel my hand clench into a fist of struggle. Three songs from the 1999 split end side B along with Scumbrigade a really good cover version of Huvudtvätt song called just plain and simple Huvudtvätt... superb cover. Side C is probably the only one I've heard before because it's their Mini-cd Pointless Stand that is found there that was also their first demo Burn. 13 songs with wonderful d-beat and I think and hope that Tolshock gets a recognition like this 20-25 years later and therefore this double LP is a fantastically important work. Because they are really worth all the attention. To conclude side D, we get a chaotic gig at Christiania and it may not be a live gig with the best sound but it shows off a side of the group worth listening to.
