PEAWEES-20 YEARS AND YOU STILL DON’T KNOW ME(2 LP-SLOW BEAT RECORDS SR-01)

Denna italienska grupp har spelat ihop sedan 1995 och här har vi låtar av olika skepnad. När jag var liten älskade jag 50-talsrock ett tag och filmer som American Graffitti etc. Sedan kom ju punken och svepte bort allt det där och då skulle man ju hata allt som hade med 50-tal och våra fiender raggarna som gillade den musiken. Nu kommer då Peawees som slår hål på myten att man inte kan verka tillsammans för deras musik är någon slags blandning av 50-talsmusik och punkrock. Då kan ni ju tänka er hur bra det blir med melodier etc eftersom 77-punk och 50-talsmusik båda har massor av den varan. Ibland blir det renodlade 50-talslåtar men bäst är det blir blandningen av 50 och 70-tal som det faktiskt är i de flesta av låtarna och det gillar jag riktigt mycket. Jag kan till och med hörs en Undertones-gitarr i en låt som Tomorrow I"LL be Done till exempel....lysande. Good for My soul är verkligen vad den säger i titeln...en soullåt och den skulle passa perfekt in på soundtracket till Committments till exempel. Denna dubbel LP kommer med två extralåtar på Cd också förresten. Musik som gör mig riktigt lycklig är det i alla fall. Som ni kanske har förstått är detta en samling av deras låtar  och om detta inte är det bästa de släppt hur bra låter andra saker då. 9/6-2015

This Italian group has been playing together since 1995 and here we have the songs of different guise. When I was little, I loved the 50's rock a while, and movies like American Graffitti, etc. Then came the punk and swept away all that stuff, and then it might well hate everything about the 50s and our enemies greasers who liked the music. Now, when Peawees that shatter the myth that one can not work together for their music is some kind of mixture of 50s music and punk rock. Then you can of course imagine how good it will be with melodies etc since 77-punk and 50's music both have plenty of that. Sometimes it becomes pure 50's songs but the best is it is the mixture of 50 and 70 that it is actually in most of the songs and I like that a lot. I can even hear a Undertones-guitar in a song Tomorrow I ‘ll be Done For example .... brilliant. Good for my soul is really what it says in the title ... a soulsong and would fit perfectly into on the soundtrack for Committments for example. This double LP comes with two additional songs on the CD also, by the way. Music makes me really happy is it, anyway. As you might have understood, this is a collection of their songs, and this is not the best they released the great sounds of other things then. 9/6-2015
