JOE SHITHEAD KEITHLEY AND HIS BAND OF REBELS(CD-SUDDEN DEATH RECORDS SDR 0074) Från DOA kommer Joey och här kommer ännu en soloskiva från honom. Man är lite orolig och vet inte vad som skall komma ut från en soloskiva som den här. DOA spelar ju energisk punkrock och Joey är ju van med det. Men det tar ju inte lång tid innan man konstaterar att detta inte är speciellt långt ifrån vad DOA brukar göra förutom att det är lite andra instrument med på den här skivan på olika låtar så som fiol, saxofon och trumpet plus att några skatoner också har hittat in här. Annars känns det som lättnynnad trallig punkrock som känns rebellisk och här finns glöden från 77-punken tillsammans med engagemanget och då blir det bara bra.(ÅTTA) 30/7-07 |

I´m a little bit worried and I don´t know what to come out from this solorecord. DOA plays energic punkrock amd Joey is used to do that. But it doesn´t take so long time before you notice that isn´t so far away from what DOA is doing except that this have a little bit different type of instruments on the record and it have instruments like violin, saxophone and trumpet and some skatunes have also come into the music here. Otherwise it feels like it is easy to sing along punkrock but it feels rebellious sometimes and here´s the fire from the 77-punk together with the engagement and then it only can become good music.(EIGHT) 30/7-07 |

JOE KEITHLEY-BEAT TRASH(CD-SUDDEN DEATH RECORDS SDR-0023) Joe från DOA har här gjort en soloskiva, blandat kompott, lite spoken word i slutet av skivan, This Train is Bound for Glory som cover som också Alarm gjorde en gång. Lite tuffare alster som The WTO really sucks men oftast är det en ganska stillsam skiva i en sådan stil som en ”gammal” punkrockare skall göra som soloskiva. Lite singer/songwriter stil och det är precis vad man vill ha på morgonen och det känns som om det är det här man vill vakna till. Så annars för han traditionen vidare bra från Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan osv i och med denna skiva även om han försökt få in lite rytmer i några av låtarna så som i Armageddon Time.(SJU) 26/1-05 |

Some tougher things as The WTO really sucks but often is this a really soft record in a style as an “old” punkrocker should do as a solorecord. A little singer/songwriterstyle and that´s precisely what you want to have in the morning and it feels like this is something you want to woke up to. Otherwise he takes the tradition on good from Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and so on with this record but he have also tried to get some rhythms into the music as in Armageddon Time.(SEVEN) 26/1-05 |
