IRONBOURNE-DARK DOMAINS(12-DALA DESTROI RECORDS DDRR030)

4 låtar med riktigt bra metal är vad Dala Destroi Records och Ironbourne får till här och det är en intressant blandning av både nytt och gammalt sound tycker jag. Jag kan säkert tänka mig att det har blivit en hel del 70-tals-hårdrock i medlemmarnas högtalare genom åren men soundet känns ändå riktigt modernt på något sätt och det känns i Black Gold att det inte bara är metal som är ingrediensen. När låten går igång efter någon minut så blir det ett riktigt skönt trumsound som översköljer oss. Titellåten Dark Domains börjar väldigt lugnt och är en skön historia där jag inledningsvis nästan tänker på Freddie Wadling för att sedan gå över till en lekfull Jethro Tull-liknande stil så ni förstår här att det inte är bara är hårdrock som gäller även om låten är hård.  Vi vänder på denna tolvtummare och då kommer den sju minuter långa Welcome to my kingdom som är en långsam, tung och härlig låt. Man sugs med i den suggestiva stilen som Ironbourne har på denna låt och denna låt kommer jag att spela många gånger….pampigt men inte på något överdånigt sätt. En jävligt bra låt helt enkelt och jag tror nog inte man behöver vara metallhuvud för att tycka det. Avslutningsvis får vi Hang them High som med namnet får mig att tänka på cowboys eller något sådant. Cowboys from Hell kanske isåfall och här får vi ännu ett prov på en ”annan” sida av hårdrocken och jag vet inte hur jag ska beskriva den men låten är grymt skön. En fyra låtars tolvtummare väl värd att investera era pengar i och stöd svensk musik. 27/3-2024

4 songs with really good metal is what Dala Destroi Records and Ironbourne get foreword here and it's an interesting mix of both new and old sound I think. I can certainly imagine that it have been a lot of 70's hard rock in the members' speakers over the years but the sound still feels really modern in some way and it feels in Black Gold that it is not only metal that is the ingredient. When the song goes on after a minute, it becomes a really nice drum sound that overwhelms us. The titletrack Dark Domains starts out very calm and is a nice story where I first almost think of Freddie Wadling and then go over to a playful Jethro Tull-similar style so you can understand here that it is not only heavy metal which is the thing even if the song is hard. We turn this twelve-inch and then comes the seven-minute long Welcome to my kingdom which is a slow, heavy and lovely song. You get sucked into the suggestive style that Ironbourne have on this song and this song I will play many times....grand but not in any extravagant way. A damn good song simply and I don ́t think you have to be a metalhead to think so. Finally we get Hang them High which with the name makes me think of cowboys or something like that. Cowboys from Hell maybe in that case and here we get another sample of another "other" side of heavy metal and I don´t know how to describe it but the song is really nice. A four-song twelve-inch well worth investing your money in and supporting Swedish music. 27/3-2024
