HEADLINES-HOMEWRECKER(CD-SUNNY BASTARDS SBCD251)

The Headlines har hållit på i 20 år ungefär och jag har tyvärr inte deras 5 första album. Måste försöka att införskaffa dessa. Deras musik är en riktigt trevlig blandning av punkrock och powerpop eller hur man ska beskriva denna eminenta orkester från Malmö. Jake var så snäll så han fixade denna skiva till mig och det är jag honom evigt tacksam för. En annan svensk grupp som jag tänker lite på är Baboon Show och det är inte så att de låter som dem men det finns en del likheter och då menar jag av det positiva slaget. Kanske inte för crustpunkaren men för oss som gillar alla sorters punk och helst då för dig som gillar mycket melodier men ändå en jävla massa attityd. Jag har tyvärr aldrig haft nöjet att ha sett de live men jag kan tänka mig att de är riktigt bra. Efter vad jag har förstått så är de väl större i utlandet och där är väl också en likhet med Baboon Show. Nu ska jag sluta nämna ett annat band i en recension av Headlines nya skiva. Headlines står mer än väl på egna ben och de seglar upp till ett av Sveriges bästa punkband just nu. De har ju gjort en låt på tyska men varför inte en skiva på svenska också. Jag tror jag skulle kunna säga att detta är en skiva som borde vara med på mångas tio-i-topp lista när året summeras över bästa punkrockalbum. Så var inte dumma nu och missa plattan och köp den med en gång såklart!  Sedan älskar jag bara Death trap där både Jake och Kerry sjunger!28/11-2024

The Headlines have been going on for about 20 years and unfortunately I don't have their first 5 albums. Have to try to get these. Their music is a really nice mix of punk rock and power pop or how to describe this eminent orchestra from Malmö. Jake was so kind so he fixed this record for me and I am eternally grateful to him for that. Another Swedish group that I think about a little bit is Baboon Show and it is not so that they sound like them but there are some similarities and then I mean of the positive kind. Maybe not for the crustpunk but for us who like all kinds of punk and preferably then for you who like a lot of melodies but still a fucking lot of attitude. Unfortunately I have never had the pleasure of having seen them live but I can imagine that they are really good. From what I have understood, they are probably bigger abroad and there is also a similarity to Baboon Show. Now I'm going to stop mentioning another band in a review of Headline's new album. Headlines stands more than well on their own two feet and they sail up to one of Sweden's best punkbands right now. They have done a song in German but why not a record in Swedish too. I think I could say that this is a record that should be on many people's top ten list when the year is summed up over the best punk rock albums. So don't be stupid now and miss the record and buy it right away of course! And then I really love Deayh Trap where both Jake and Kerry sings.28/11-2024

HEADLINES-WARPAINT(CD-METALVILLE MV0241)

Malmöbandet Headlines har gjort en hel del fullängdare men jag har nog nästan missat alla. Vet inte varför men det har bara inte blivit av men nu vill jag ha alla. Deras musik är verkligen musik som jag gillar och Kerry Bomb har en röst med mycket attityd och det är A och O i rebellisk rockmusik. Det är snabb musik med otroligt mycket melodier och det finns inte så många grupper i Sverige som låter på detta vis, internationellt stuk på musiken och jag kan tänka mig att de är populära i andra länder eftersom de sjunger på engelska. Jag kan tänka mig att grupper som påverkat dem är Blondie, Primitives och lite tuffare punkgrupper men fokus för gruppen tycker jag är de bra melodierna och de korta men ändå innehållsrika texterna. Lätt att sjunga med och jag blir glad av deras musik. Jag bannar mig själv för att jag missat så mycket tidigare skivor med dem men måste ta tag i det och försöka att få tag på dem. “ I hate authority, never get down on your knees, They´re gonna try to tear you apart everyday piece by piece” sjunger de i Warpaint/Authority och det är den bästa låten på skivan och texten gör mig stark och det är bara att hålla med. Inte mycket att tveka över utan kolla in The Headlines med en gång…26/11-2020

HEADLINES-WARPAINT(CD-METALVILLE MV0241)

The Malmö band Headlines has made a lot of full-lengths but I have probably almost missed them all. I do not know why but it just has not happened but now I want everyone. Their music is really music that I like and Kerry Bomb has a voice with a lot of attitude and that is A and O in rebellious rock music. It's fast music with an incredible amount of melodies and there are not many groups in Sweden that sound this way, internationally style in the music and I can imagine that they are popular in other countries because they sing in English. I can imagine that groups that have influenced them are Blondie, Primitives and a bit tougher punk groups, but the focus for the group I think is the good melodies and the short but still rich lyrics. Easy to sing along with and I love their music. I swear to myself because I missed so many previous records with them but have to get to try to get hold of them. "I hate authority, never get down on your knees, They're gonna try to tear you apart everyday piece by piece" they sing in Warpaint / Authority and it's the best song on the record and the lyrics make me strong and it's just to agree. Not much to hesitate about but check out The Headlines right away… 26/11-2020
