Mouthwash is a fucking good band from London, and two of the guys in the band answered my questions and here they are.

BEN

History?-The band formed in 1995 as a 3 piece in 97 we record=Dead music for the average ninja through our own label Hotwok. That year Rich joined and in 99 we released the Fools gold e.p, in 2000 we signed to hellcat records after playing with Rancid and in early 2001 we recorded 1000 dreams.

Any bands before, beside or something like that? - No, just Mouthwash

Please tell me a little about every member, age , work, family, something bad about every member?- Ben is 20,Rob is 19, Rich is 22, Chris is 18

If I look on the cover I see a guy sitting with the bass, don´t you like him or why does he sit down on the floor away from the other ones, please be kind to him? -The boy is Chris, he took all the photos but he had to be in the photo so someone else took 3 photos with him in it.

1000 dreams, have you done anythning more than that, if you have what and how can I get it? -Yeah we did 2 e.p's, the first one was in 1997'music for the Average
ninja  through our own label Hotwok then Fool's Gold EP (on cd) on Hot Wok. You can order them they are available via our website.

Is Hellcat a good company? -Yeah it's a great label, they let us do everything how we wanted it,
record it and do the artwork, they're great!

How did you came in contact with them? -We played with Rancid in 1998, Tim had heard our first EP and he asked us to work with Hellcat.

I compare you to Subhumans, Citizen Fish what do you think about, that, what other comparions do you get when you get reviewed?  -We've never had that comparison, we are often compared to oads of bands like The Jam, The Clash, Operation Ivy, but lots of people say we sound original.

Do you care about reviews, which is the most peculiar review you have got? -It's good when you get reviews but you can't pay too much attention to the bad ones. Just Seventeen, a teenage girl magazine said we were an all-girl band, I don't why that magazine was writing about us.

Have you changed anything after a bad review?- We always do what we want to do.

What do you know about Sweden?  -Free Love, Burning Heart Records, Porn and Ikea.

Can music change anyones life you believe?- Of course

What is most important for you when you write music, is it to have good lyrics, good melodies or to have a refrain that people remember? -We put our best lyrics and best melodies onto the street, if people like it we´re happy.

How is a good concert with you? - A big crowd going crazy.

How does the average Mouthwash-fan look like? - We have got all sorts of fans.

RICH

History? -The band started in 1995 as a three piece line up with Ben singing and playing Bass, I joined in '97 and took over on Bass allowing Ben to concentrate on vocals. We gained a good following by playing all over
London with anyone and eveyone!

Any bands before, beside or something like that?- I was in a few bands before, but they never really took off....

Please tell me a little about every member, age , work, family, something bad about every member? -I am 22, not working at the moment, gonna concentrate on the band as of now......  , Something bad about me.......... I cant get up in the mornings!......

If I look on the cover I see a guy sitting with the bass, don´t you like him or why does he sit down on the florr away from the other ones, please be kind to him? -Nah......! We are NEVER kind to Chris!  Chris plays drums for the band and does a good job, but we like to beat the living hell out of him every once in a while because he has difficulty with communicating with the Human  race...

1000 dreams, have you done anythning more than that, if you have what and how can I get it? -Check out our website www.mouthwash.org  for other releases, we have a 7-inch EP called 'Music for the average ninja' which we put out in '97 on our own label 'Hotwok Records' and the 'Fools Gold' EP on cd, again on 'Hotwok'.

Is Hellcat a good company? -Yeah so far Hellcat have been great to us......

How did you came in contact with them? -After playing with Rancid in London in '98 we gave Tim a tape which
he liked alot, so we ended up signing with them...

I compare you to Subhumans, Citizen Fish what do you think about, that, what other comparions do you get when you get reviewed? - Never heard them, I think we have our sound really, our main goal is to try and do something different, we dont want every record to sound the same or to sound like one particular band..

Do you care about reviews, which is the most peculiar review you have got? - It's nice if you get a good review, but at the same time you have to keep 'on your feet' and dont let it go to your head because otherwise your
music will just suffer and go down hill if think your the best out there, but  there's always gonna be bad reviews not matter what you do....

Have you changed anything after a bad review? -Nah, most bad reviews are people that just dont like us, they are not constructive in any way, but No we havn't changed anything at all.....

What do you know about Sweden? -Not a great deal.......I know there is a strong Punk/Hardcore scene
there which is good, I have never been there but would like to go someday, I hear you have pretty women there!!!!

.Have you heard any swedish bands? -I have heard most of the 'Burning Heart/Bad Taste' bands, some of them
are pretty rockin'...

You´re from England, how is to live there right now? -It's good....we like it....it's where we all grew up so we dont really know any different, Central London is a good place to go on the weekend if you have money,  we live about 20 mins on the tube from there, we are
from South London.

Is there any good bands there nowadays? -Oasis, Iron Maiden....

Is it as many as it was of the people without home in London? What to do about them? - Yeah quite alot of homeless people around the City, the only thing to do
really is to get the goverment to build more hostal's for them....

Does politic and music goes hand in hand ,do you think?- Well No, music to me is just entertainment, if you wanna be polictical write a book or try and get elected.....I dont see the point of singing in a band to get political points across, young music fans just wanna have fun these days.....I'm not saying I dont like all political punk bands because I do like some political things which bands say....But overall it's all about
having a good time, and politics just bore me.....

Can music change anyones life you believe? -Yeah, 'cause it lets you escape the stress of everyday life...

What is most important for you when you write music, is it to have good lyrics, good melodies or to have a refrain that people remember? -To be origanal and do what you want....

How is a good concert with you? - A good  'Sinalong'..... But intense....

How does the average Mouthwash-fan look like? - A criminal....

Do you have good contact with your fans?- Yeah, alot of our close friends always come and support us when we
play in London.....

.Please rank your five best records, five best concerts you have been to, and the five most important things in life?- Best Concert: Guns 'n Roses Wembley stadium '92.....
Best Album:  Faith No More  'Angel Dust'....
Thing in life:   Good times you won't forget.....
